Layer 7 is committed to operating responsibly and reducing the environmental impact of our business. We treat sustainability the way we treat security: measured, evidenced and continually improved, not a statement on a page.
Certified environmental management
Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001. That means we identify our environmental aspects and impacts, set objectives to reduce them, and review our performance against them, independently audited, not self-declared.
Carbon
We are working towards net zero and measure our emissions so reductions are based on evidence. Our full commitments and targets are set out in our Carbon Reduction Plan.
- Remote-first working, which removes the bulk of commuting and office emissions.
- Efficient, cloud-hosted infrastructure rather than always-on owned hardware.
- Reducing business travel, and favouring rail over air and road where practical.
Responsible operations
- Minimising waste and prioritising reuse and recycling of equipment.
- Choosing suppliers and platforms that share our environmental standards.
- Building security that lasts, so systems are maintained rather than needlessly replaced.
